Annual Letters

December 31, 2021

Team,

I hope that everyone is having a wonderful holiday.

I am responding to a previous thread to include those that are new to the firm.

This past fall Thrive celebrated its ten year anniversary. I truly am humbled by all that we have accomplished together as a team.

While we are ultimately measured by the returns that we generate for our limited partners, I am most proud of the culture that we have created together and the values that we stand for as an organization.

At Thrive we strive for excellence in everything that we do. We collaborate as an organization and support each other. We embrace failure and constantly focus on self improvement. We "thrive" off of adversity and welcome any challenge that is presented to us. Our underdog mentality drives us to always go the extra mile. We are tenacious. We are gritty. We are creative. We are bold. We are kind. We are NEVER satisfied.

I have never felt more energized about the potential of what we can create together. In many ways, it feels as if we are just getting started.

In years past, my letters have symbolized rallying cries exemplifying our need to continue to elevate our first principles thinking, work ethic and team first culture. Over the next decade we have the potential to become the leading firm in our industry. It is important though that we all recognize that this is not why Thrive was founded.

As we look to the next decade, it is imperative that we understand what TRULY has enabled us to come this far. To date, we have been focused on the inputs not the outputs. Thrive's true success has been driven by our irrational passion for innovation and our desire to be the most meaningful partner to our founders. If we remain obsessed with our purpose we will continue to hone our craft and ultimately be the best versions of ourselves. I am confident that the best version of this group is better than any other collection of individuals in our industry.

I truly consider it an honor of a lifetime to work with all of you.

I hope that everyone enjoys this precious time with their family. Nothing we ever do at work will measure up to what we do at home.

Wishing everyone the best for a year filled with love, health and happiness.

yours,
Josh
